Hey! I’m Darwin Stapel. Great to meet you. I’m a Berlin based Fashion Show Director, Runway Choreographer and multidisciplinary creative working through Studio Starwin.
Studio Starwin → Studio Starwin is my creative practice for Fashion Show Direction, Runway Choreography and projects beyond the runway. I work with fashion brands, designers, agencies, artists and cultural institutions in Berlin and internationally.
Fashion Show Direction → I develop and direct fashion shows, runway presentations and live fashion experiences. My work brings together movement, music, space, timing, visual storytelling and the identity of a collection or brand. Depending on the project, this can include the overall show concept, runway choreography, model direction, music direction, spatial ideas and the dramaturgy of the live experience.
Runway Choreography → Movement has always been a big part of my work. With a professional background in dance, choreography and modeling, I understand how bodies move through space and how rhythm, timing and presence can change the way fashion is experienced. I worked as Assistant Choreographer and Runway Coach for Germany’s Next Topmodel, Season Finale Live Show 2025.
Beyond Runway → My work also includes movement direction, choreography, fashion styling, grooming and image making. Previous projects include fashion styling for the nationwide adidas Originals OZWORLD campaign as well as collaborations with artists, performers and musicians across fashion, music and visual culture. All of these disciplines feed into the way I approach fashion shows and live experiences today.
Background → I have been based in Berlin for over a decade and have also lived and worked in London and Istanbul. My work and experience have taken me to Copenhagen, New York City and other international fashion and cultural contexts. I speak Turkish and have always moved between different scenes, cultures and creative disciplines. That perspective is a big part of the way I work.
From Movement to Fashion → My background in professional dance, modeling, choreography and fashion gives me a very physical understanding of image and performance. I know what it feels like to be on stage, on a runway and in front of a camera. At the same time, I understand the wider production around it. This allows me to look at a show from different perspectives and connect the individual elements into one experience.
→ Let’s work together
